Personal Year Numerology for Business Planning: How to Time Launches, Pivots and Rest
By Aishney Verma · Tarot Reader, Numerologist & Astrologer · 9 min read · 26 July 2026
Every founder I read for eventually asks the same question, in some form: 'is this the right year to do this?' Numerology's 9-year personal cycle is the single most useful tool I have for answering that honestly. It won't tell you what to build, but it will tell you what kind of energy the year in front of you is running — and which decisions will move with it rather than against it.
How to calculate your personal year
Add the day and month of your birth to the current calendar year, then reduce to a single digit (except master numbers 11, 22, 33, which stay as they are).
Example: born 14 March, calculating for 2026. 1 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 18 → 1 + 8 = 9. That person is in a Personal Year 9 in 2026.
The year runs roughly January to January, though some numerologists start it on your birthday. For business planning I use the calendar year — it aligns with fiscal cycles and is easier to plan around.
The 9-year cycle in one paragraph per year
Personal Year 1 — Launch year. New identity, new direction, new business. High energy, low visibility of results. Plant, don't harvest.
Personal Year 2 — Partnership year. Slow, relational, collaborative. Terrible for solo launches, excellent for co-founder conversations, alliances and quiet groundwork.
Personal Year 3 — Visibility year. Creative expression, marketing, audience-building. The year to publish, speak, get on stage.
Personal Year 4 — Build year. Systems, structure, discipline. Not glamorous. The scaffolding year that makes years 5 and 6 possible.
Personal Year 5 — Change year. Pivots, expansion, unexpected opportunities. The most volatile year of the cycle — high risk, high reward.
Personal Year 6 — Responsibility year. Team, service, refinement of what you built in year 4. Often the most profitable year of the cycle.
Personal Year 7 — Reflection year. Study, retreat, R&D. Bad year for aggressive launches; excellent year for the next book, the next credential, the deeper skill.
Personal Year 8 — Harvest year. Money, authority, scaling. The single strongest business year in the cycle. If you built well in years 4 and 6, this is when the return arrives.
Personal Year 9 — Completion year. Ending cycles, releasing what is finished, clearing space. Bad year to start something new; excellent year to close, sell, restructure or exit.
How I use this in strategy readings
For a founder planning a launch, I check the personal year first. Launching a solo venture in a Personal Year 2 or Personal Year 9 is fighting the current — not impossible, but expensive. Waiting six months into the next Personal Year 1 often saves 18 months of struggle.
For hiring, Personal Year 6 is unusually favourable. For fundraising, Personal Year 8. For a pivot, Personal Year 5. For writing the book or building the certification, Personal Year 7.
The cycle is not deterministic. A skilled founder can build in any year. But when the energy is with you, less effort produces more result — that is the whole point of timing work.
Reading two cycles together — founder and business
A business also has a personal year, calculated from its founding date. When the founder's year and the business's year are in the same phase, the year tends to feel aligned. When they diverge sharply — founder in Year 9, business in Year 1 — the founder often feels pulled to close what the business is trying to launch. Naming this saves a lot of confused decision-making.
For senior professionals inside a company, the same analysis applies to your role: your personal year tells you whether this is the year to stretch, to consolidate, or to move.

The two most common misuses
Misuse 1 — treating the year as an excuse. 'I'm in a Personal Year 9 so I can't do anything.' The cycle is a lens, not a permission slip. A Year 9 is a strong year to close, restructure and clear — that is decisive work, not passivity.
Misuse 2 — ignoring the rest of the chart. Your personal year sits inside your full numerology profile (life path, expression, soul urge) and your astrology. A skilled reader cross-references all of them. Pulling only the personal year and building a strategy on it is like reading only one card of a spread.
How Mystara Guidance runs founder readings
The Business Strategy & Alignment session cross-references your personal year, your life path number, your business's numerology (if it exists yet), and the current astrology transits over your natal chart. From that composite, we identify the aligned window for your decision — the specific month, not just the year.
This is the reading founders come back to at the start of every calendar year. Book once at planning season and once mid-year for the recalibration.
Frequently asked
How do I calculate my personal year in numerology?
+
Add the day and month of your birth to the current calendar year, then reduce to a single digit (11, 22 and 33 are kept as master numbers). Example: born 14 March, calculating for 2026 — 1 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 18 → 1 + 8 = 9. That person is in a Personal Year 9 in 2026.
Which personal year is best for launching a business?
+
Personal Year 1 is the strongest launch year — new identity, new direction, high initiating energy. Personal Year 3 is excellent for a visibility-driven launch (a book, a course, a public brand). Avoid launching solo in Personal Year 2 (partnership energy, not solo) or Personal Year 9 (completion, not initiation).
Which personal year is best for scaling and revenue?
+
Personal Year 8 is the harvest year of the cycle and is typically the strongest revenue and authority year. Personal Year 6 is the strongest year for building a team and service delivery, and often the most profitable in real terms because it monetises what you built in Year 4.
What if my personal year and my business's personal year don't match?
+
This is common and worth naming. When the founder is in a completion year (9) but the business is in a launch year (1), the founder often feels pulled to close while the business is trying to open. A skilled reading identifies which cycle to prioritise and how to structure the year so the two don't work against each other.
Can I book a business numerology reading in Delhi?
+
Yes. Aishney's Business Strategy & Alignment session runs 60 minutes and cross-references your personal year, life path, business numerology and current astrology transits. Available in person in South Delhi and over Zoom worldwide — most founders book once at planning season and once mid-year.
